Bé Chuille is the daughter of Flidais, goddess of the forest, and she fought at the Second Battle of Mag Tuired — not with weapons, but with magic.
She and other Tuatha Dé women created the illusion of armed warriors from rushes and sods of earth. The Fomorians found themselves facing soldiers who didn’t exist. That kind of deception — making the enemy see what isn’t there — is how Bé Chuille fought, and it worked.
Her name may mean “woman of the hazel” or connect to holly. Both are tree names, which fits the daughter of the forest goddess.
