Fomorian Warrior, Son of Indech
Octriallach mac Indech was a Fomorian warrior at the Second Battle of Mag Tuired, and the one who came closest to winning it without ever picking up a sword.
The Tuatha Dé had a secret advantage: a healing well called Loch Sláine, where Dian Cécht and his children chanted incantations over the water each night. The Tuatha Dé’s wounded warriors bathed in it and came out healed, fit to fight again the next day. No matter how many losses the battle inflicted, the Tuatha Dé kept coming back.
Octriallach found out about the well. He led a Fomorian force to it and filled it with great stones, packing them in until the water could no longer work. The Tuatha Dé’s single greatest advantage in the battle — the thing that let them sustain fighting indefinitely — was gone.
It was the smartest move the Fomorians made in the entire war.
